Books Read in 2010

These are the books I completed during the 2010 calendar year:

Where Serpents Sleep, C.S. Harris; The Last Unicorn, Peter S. Beagle; Talking about Detective Fiction, P.D. James; The Crying Tree, Naseem Rakha; The Companion, Ann Granger; A Mortal Curiosity, Ann Granger; Tau Zero, Poul Anderson; Necropath, Eric Brown; The Lightning Thief, Rick Riordan; Medicus, Ruth Downie; Terra Incognita, Ruth Downie; Kaleidoscope, Dorothy Gilman; Pirate Latitudes, Michael Crichton; The Outback Stars, Sandra McDonald; Heaven's Net is Wide, Lian Hearn; The Stars Down Under, Sandra McDonald; This Body of Death, Elizabeth George; The Girl Who Played With Fire, Stieg Larsson; The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, Stieg Larsson; The Enchanted Forest Chronicles (Dealing With Dragons, Searching for Dragons, Calling on Dragons, Talking to Dragons), Patricia C. Wrede; Too Much Money, Dominick Dunne; The Atrocity Archives, Charles Stross; Santa Clawed, Rita Mae Brown; Cat of the Century, Rita Mae Brown.

Books read with our new neighborhood book club:

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larsson; One Thousand White Women, Jim Fergus; The Help, Kathryn Stockett; The Hearts of Horses, Molly Gloss; The Beekeeper's Apprentice, Laurie R. King; Mennonite in a Little Black Dress, Rhoda Janzen.

I'm nearing the end of the current book club read (The Forgotten Garden) and already thinking about what book I'll pull off my bookshelf next. I seem to require a book in progress. Even if it's just a matter of making the selection and inserting the marker at Chapter One.

Awesome that you can remember all the books you read last year. I couldn't remember if I tried ( I'll try to keep a list this year just for fun!)
Try "Flying Changes", "Water for Elephants" and "Riding Lessons" by Sara Gruen
I think you might enjoy them ( Water for Elephants was my favorite).
The Last Unicorn has been in my top ten favorites of all time for over twenty years! My other favorites of all time- The Princess Bride ( funniest book EVER!) better by far than the movie
Also liking "Glass Castles" by Jeanette Walls and her newest one "Half Broke Horses".
What did you think of "A Thousand White Women"?

Boy, I haven't read anywhere near that number of books this year. Makes me feel like a slouch. As much as I love books I just am not finding the time to read although I'd probably have more time if I spent less time blogging. LOL

I've been keeping track of the books I've read since 1965. I think I started with recreational reading, excluding books read for school.

I was an English Major in college. Can you tell? :-) I generally read in the evening with half an eye on the television. If it's a good program, I read during commercials. If the book has me enthralled, then the TV program gets short shrift.

I haven't yet read Sara Gruen, although I have a copy of "Riding Lessons." A friend introduced me to "The Last Unicorn," which I found charming. I'm not familiar with Jeanett Walls. The book club had reservations with "A Thousand White Women." We found we couldn't completely "suspend disbelief" with the premise for the novel and thought most of the characters were stereotypes -- but we were very happy that we live during an era when woman have many more choices in life!

I find it interesting to review what I've read during previous years. Sometimes I'm amazed by the variety.
