I think I started with recreational reading, excluding books read for school.

I was an English Major in college. Can you tell? :-) I generally read in the evening with half an eye on the television. If it's a good program, I read during commercials. If the book has me enthralled, then the TV program gets short shrift.

I haven't yet read Sara Gruen, although I have a copy of "Riding Lessons." A friend introduced me to "The Last Unicorn," which I found charming. I'm not familiar with Jeanett Walls. The book club had reservations with "A Thousand White Women." We found we couldn't completely "suspend disbelief" with the premise for the novel and thought most of the characters were stereotypes -- but we were very happy that we live during an era when woman have many more choices in life!

I find it interesting to review what I've read during previous years. Sometimes I'm amazed by the variety.Oregon Equestrianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10074291602447053774noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1966011253508211409.post-59945347746772017332011-01-07T00:14:45.757-08:002011-01-07T00:14:45.757-08:00hmmm so exactly how many hours do you require at n...hmmm so exactly how many hours do you require at night of sleep? lol

I need to start writing what I have read - its a great way to see what you have read and to show you whats worth reading again!Janice Grinyerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14363741660626407979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1966011253508211409.post-68149615160603362172011-01-06T10:33:36.335-08:002011-01-06T10:33:36.335-08:00Boy, I haven't read anywhere near that number ...Boy, I haven't read anywhere near that number of books this year. Makes me feel like a slouch. As much as I love books I just am not finding the time to read although I'd probably have more time if I spent less time blogging. I couldn't remember if I tried ( I'll try to keep a list this year just for fun!)
Try "Flying Changes", "Water for Elephants" and "Riding Lessons" by Sara Gruen
I think you might enjoy them ( Water for Elephants was my favorite).
The Last Unicorn has been in my top ten favorites of all time for over twenty years! My other favorites of all time- The Princess Bride ( funniest book EVER!) better by far than the movie
Also liking "Glass Castles" by Jeanette Walls and her newest one "Half Broke Horses".
What did you think of "A Thousand White Women"?Vaquerogirlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14367676563270560606noreply@blogger.com
