Sunday Stills: Holiday Decorations

'Tis the season!

Regrettably, we have some old family tree ornaments that are buried somewhere in the pile at the center of the garage, or stashed amid the boxes at the self-storage unit. However, there are certain elements that I like to have on our tree every year.

The dove always goes near the top.
We continue to hope for peace on earth.

The trombone in honor of my father.

The white rose with musical ribbon
in memory of my father and grandfather.

To see more holiday decorations, visit Sunday Stills.

Music must have had an important spot in your family history...mine too. :)

Both my father and grandfather were professional musicians. My grandfather played with the Portland Symphony for 49 years. In their eras of music, they played for broadway musicals, corporate events, a variety of shows (ice skating, aqua, home), etc. You name it, one or both of them played it. From gypsy funerals to FDR's dedication of Timberline Lodge.

Oooh! So very special to have the memory ornaments.

My twinling used to play the trombone, so that one made me smile.
And the dove reminded me of the very old, almost bald dove that we keep tucked inside our tree.....kind of like a partridge. I'm not sure why we do that, but we've done it for as long as I remember. lol!

Nice photos. Thanks for sharing,
