I love OPB (Oregon Public Broadcasting)! Last night, Oregon Art Beat featured the feather art of Deb Otterstein. Yes -- feather art.

Aren't they phenomenal? All painted on turkey feathers. The wood duck shows the artwork displayed in the shadowbox frame -- the completed project.Ms. Otterstein discussed how she discovered her artistic skill, her unsuccessful efforts to paint landscapes and still lifes -- as she thought she was expected to do. And her love of wildlife/animal art. She also explained the difficulty of painting on such a delicate "canvas."
I've never heard of this before. Her work is lovely. I just had to share it.
